Streets of ATL

I started out today on the streets of Atlanta. Walked a few miles with a good friend and did some stock photos and of course some touristy stuff. Managed to stay out of trouble and not get run over by a car or bus.

Trip to ATL

After a 13 hour drive we're finally in Atlanta, GA to shoot a week long event. Stopped along the way in Chattanooga, TN for a brew and a burger at a great place called the Terminal Brewery. Great service, burger, and beer!

An update... really?

Yes, I've not been very good at blogging. I will now start updating more often so please check back to see what's up. I've been working mainly on my marathon photography business, ActionSportsImages.com. It's been super busy and things are going well. Traveled to Colorado, Utah, and Arizona in February. Drove the whole thing and traveled with a few good photog buddies. We went to Arches National, Monument Valley, Horseshoe Bend and many other spots on our way to the Lost Duchman Marathon in Apache Junction, AZ. In the coming months, I'll have updates on the ActionSportsImages website and will be preparing for a busy marathon season starting with the Trolley Run on April 26. We don't stop until summer and will travel most of the midwest from Columbus, Ohio to Deadwood, South Dakota. In the coming months I'll be adding and changing photos to the markcoffeyphoto.com site which will show more of my main focus, stock photography.

Changing things up and settling in

Recently, I've decided to leave the newspaper business in a full time capacity after 6 great years. June 1 was my last day of working as a photo editor/chief photographer for the Sun Newspaper group both in Liberty, Mo. and Overland Park, Ks. Thanks to everyone at the Sun for being so great to work with. I've learned a lot from you and have gained many friends. I'm transitioning into doing more stock and commercial photography and will continute to grow ActionSportsImages.com as well.

I'm now settling into a new studio space in downtown Kanasas City and will be revampting my website throughout the month of June. Hopefully now that I have some more time on my hands, I'll be updating this blog a little more often.

New Mexico

I'm in Albuquerque, New Mexico covering an event. To my surprise this morning, when I left my hotel room, there was a 2 alarm fire across the street.

Winter has arrived

We got a few inches of snow today in Kansas City... yes!
